Transfers that could alter Arsenal
Imagine having the best striker duo in the world but your club sucks. That's right. Arsenal's tandem of Alexander Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a deadly force but there isn't much to back them up. Arsenal will enter the 2019-2020 season with a tattered defense and midfield that is lacking. With their investors reluctant to throw money at the club, Arsenal could be in a world of hurt next season. Here's who I think they could use, and who they could be without.
Out
Mesut Ozil- Ths guy needs to leave the club. After reports surfaced that he got into an argument with manager, Unai Emory, that was the last straw for me. He simply isn't good enough to be causing this much trouble. I know Arsenal is listening to offers for him and I hope he leaves. I feel like it would be good for the team as a whole if Arsenal were to move on from Ozil.
Mustafi- this guy is so bad. I'm not sure how he's on Arsenal in the first place but if one thing is for sure it's that Arsenal needs to get rid of him as soon as possible. You simply can't win meaningful games while deploying someone of Mustafi's caliber. Sell him for pennies if you have to. Get him out.
In
Samuel Umtiti- first of all, Umtiti losing his starting spot at Barcelona to Clement Lenglet is a mystery to me. Umtiti, a world-cup, champion is one of the best center backs in the world. His services would be extremely valuable to a club like Arsenal who is dire need of a franchise leading center back. Umtiti is only 25 and the likes of Sokratis and Laurent Koscielny are on the wrong side of 30. Umtiti seems like a perfect fit for Arsenal but Barca would most likely demand a great deal of money for the Frenchman.
Ousmane Dembele- Now this will never happen because Barca will most likely demand a god damn fortune for his services but Dembele at Arsenal has the potential to be huge. At the moment, Arsenal has virtually no reliable wingers. Iwobi is a great player but to rely on him to consistently start would be a tall order. Dembele hasn't really been given a chance at Barcelona in my opinion. The young French star has mainly been used a substitute which is quite odd considering the paid over 100 million for him. Dembele at Arsenal seems right and if you throw him in with Lacazette and Aubameyang that would just be unfair.
Wilfred Zaha- Zaha, one of the premier leagues most skillful players, is set to leave Crystal Palace this summer. Although he wants Champions League football, Arsenal is in dire need of skillful wingers and Zaha fits the bill. He will probably cost less that Dembele but he's three years his senior. For me, Zaha is someone who can strengthen a team like Arsenal's bench. On the other hand, Dembele can alter a franchise and provide a club like Arsenal with a cornerstone piece.
Cengiz Under- It's not every day that Turkey produces world-class talent. The 21-year-old AS Roma winger seems like a future Arsenal player. A strong runner with the ball, Under could provide Arsenal with yet another presence on the width but also he could be a strong candidate to replace Ozil at attacking midfield. I know he's more of a forward but I'd like to see him in this role. Arsenal is in dire need of an attacking midfielder and he could be the answer. Either way, just having him at the club is a major upgrade.
So there you have it. Those are the major targets that could easily help Arsenal strengthen their squad. The lack of funds may hold Arsenal back, but in the end, it's up to the investors. If they want their club to grow and succeed, they're going to need to spend some major cash. They just need to make sure they spend it on the right players.
