With Hazard out, who will fill his shoes?

After years and years of rumors, Chelsea's star man has finally left for Real Madrid. Eden Hazard, the 28-year-old Belgian winger has finally joined his dream club and the void he is leaving at Chelsea will be close to impossible to fill. Hazard has cemented himself as one of the best footballers in the world and it seems right that he's finally a Madrid player. On the other hand, Chelsea is without their star player, and with a looming transfer ban, the Blues could be in big trouble next year.

Am I mad that Hazard left for Madrid? Absolutely not. Hazard has given his all for Chelsea and I'm truly happy for him. Would I rather him stay and remain a Chelsea player? Of course but I'm excited for him and I'm excited to see him as a Real Madrid player. After all, Hazard got me into soccer and seeing him grow since joining Chelsea has been amazing.

So who will take Hazards place? Try a handful of players. And by that, I mean young players. You can't fill Hazard's shoes outright. No player on the Chelsea roster is going to record 16 goals and 15 assists in the Premier League next year. I think it will take a trio of players to achieve this and here's who.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

It seems we are witnessing the beginning of a great Chelsea career from Loftus-Cheek. The young English international was excellent last season. Loftus-Cheek netted 6 goals and 2 assists last season and had 24 appearances for Chelsea 18 of which he was used as a substitute (premierleague.com). Loftus-Cheek could very well be the first choice attacking midfielder for Chelsea next season and even if he isn't a starter, he will be an essential asset to the Chelsea attack.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Hudson-Odoi, the 18-year-old fearless winger, has the potential to be a generational player. Yes, he only netted a single assist in premier league play this season, but the promise he has shown should not be taken for granted. The English international has attracted the likes of Bayern Munich but Chelsea should be more than keen on keeping him at the club. Hudson-Odoi made 9 appearances for Chelsea in the Europa League in which he netted 4 goals and 2 assists (Europaleague.com). Unfortunately, a torn Achilles tendon ended Hudson-Odoi's season but his future remains bright and he has the potential to help lead Chelsea for years to come.

Christian Pulisic

I'm beyond excited to see Pulisic at Stamford Bridge next year. It's not every day that a 20-year-old wonderkind from the US comes to your favorite club. Pulisic will be on-loan from Borussia Dortmund and he'll be looking to make an immediate impact. I'm worried that too much weight will be placed on his shoulders due to Hazard leaving. Regardless, I have high hopes for Pulisic and I think he will thrive in the Premier League. He's such a loveable player (especially for someone in the US) and I have high hopes for him. Although I hold him in high regard, this next year will be a huge test for him and it remains to be seen if he is up for the task.

Hazard's left Chelsea for his dream club but he has left the club in better hands than one may think. The trio of Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, and Pulisic could be the shining light for a club that many see as a troubled franchise. It may be the rumored departing of Maurizio Sarri or the looming transfer ban. Regardless, Chelsea has a solid young trio of players that are projected to have big seasons next year. Let's just hope it pans out.
